Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of No Limits;
We have much to be grateful for and a bright future to look forward to.
2018 presented us with some changes that were not easy, but together, with your patience, we solved our dilemmas and moved forward. We are striving to meet our responsibilities to our persons-served, and the federal and state agencies that fund us.
Let me share what is new at No Limits Alternative Center;
Our new website is nearing completion. As soon as it is ready for public viewing, we will be sending you the link so you can visualize the many things we are always talking about. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
The new content also includes links on new and ever-changing legislation coming out of Columbus from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. You can click on and follow the links to help stay informed and up-to-date. Knowledge is power.
Technology is not absent at No Limits. Our in-house techie, Kayla, not only keeps our computers working at top speed, she is programming our brand new Amazon Alexa Dots. Now we can Ask Alexa; “What is today’s weather going to be like?” What time is it? “Which famous people were born today?” This will be an easy way to stay connected to the world around us and keep up with the technological age.
One of our newer employees, Greg, comes to us with a great deal of gardening and farming expertise. He, Amy and Bobby have put their heads together and are planning for a much larger and more diverse garden this spring. Those who enjoyed Garden Club and watching the seeds they planted in March turn into vegetables they can harvest in June, will have increased opportunity to create a garden of their dreams. Look for this crew to begin their planting soon.
Greg and Bobby will also be working with a new ‘Landscape Crew’ to maintain the property and gardens. We want No Limits to shine like the diamond she is, and show our community what fine workers we employ.
We have a new direct support staff member – Welcome Austin. He brings some experience and a great deal of youth and liveliness to our program. We look forward to seeing what his bright ideas and boundless energy create.
In case you did not meet her at the holiday party, No Limits also welcomes Katrina – our new caterer. Trina has her own company called “Fresh Wind Catering”, and her food handler license. She has been coming up with new entrée choices we hope you will enjoy.
Look for our annual satisfaction survey to be distributed this month. We welcome your suggestions, concerns and feedback. Communication is key to our growth and success.
Everyone should have received our 2019 calendar of closed dates. You may notice that our next closed day will be Monday, January 21st for Martin Luther King Day.
With winter eventually rearing its ugly head, be alert for weather closures and snow emergencies. Our agency posts closed dates on the three local TV stations; WFMJ, WKBN and WYTV. We will post as early as possible to allow you ample time to make arrangements.
Let me close with gratitude to my co-workers who tirelessly care for, entertain, support and assist each other. Who never stop thinking of new and positive ideas to make No Limits better. Who step in, without being asked, to do what needs to be done to create an environment of kindness. Thank You! And thanks to you, friends and family, for your continued support and enthusiastic positive feedback. Together we are creating an environment where we can live a life with No Limits.
Happy 2019!
Betsy
